Eye Spy at Science City
2024 | kansas city, missouri | mural | 660 sq ft
This black, white, and grey design serves as a color palette cleanser as guests walk into the new “Eye Spy” exhibit at Science City in Union Station. The scenic painting offers a glimpse of the mind-bending illusions that await within the exhibit. In this space, a 2D world unzips to reveal a 3D world, creating a surreal melting effect from top to bottom as a spiral seems to push you into a black hole. This project provided an interesting test for us as we designed for a never-ending space with three-dimensional challenges. Our inspiration drew heavily from the works of Salvador Dalí and M.C. Escher, channeling their iconic styles to create this unique experience.
